London City Antiques has dated these Victorian Walnut Side Chairs to the 1860s.
The generously proportioned upholstered seats are raised on graceful cabriole legs with carved knees and scroll feet, retaining their small castors.

A wonderfully versatile pair, these chairs would work beautifully as bedroom or dressing room chairs, occasional chairs in a sitting room, either side of a console or fireplace, in a hallway or entrance hall, or as elegant additional seating in a bedroom or guest room. They could equally be separated and used individually in different areas of the home.

The chairs are currently upholstered in an attractive coral-pink patterned fabric finished with decorative braid. The existing upholstery remains presentable and can certainly be enjoyed as it is.
We are also able to offer a professional reupholstery service at very reasonable prices, allowing the chairs to be completely personalised to suit your interior. Customers may choose from the extensive fabric collections available through our suppliers or provide a fabric of their own choice.

We can also offer AquaClean fabrics, available in a wide range of colours, textures and designs. AquaClean technology is an innovative fabric treatment that allows most everyday stains to be cleaned using water only, making it an excellent practical option for antique seating intended for regular use. Please contact us for fabric choices and a very competitive upholstery quotation.
