A very good 17th Century Yorkshire Wainscot Chair, In great condition standing on original feet, superbly carved throughout with scrolls to the crest and lozenge to the panel. The chair has developed a wonderful highly burnished glassy surface and rich warm colour and is enhanced by the addition of chevron inlay made in Bog Oak and Holly to the back legs. The seat boards are old replacements. The last image shows another we have in stock that can be bought separately but would make a nice pair, the two are undoubtably made in the same workshop. Circa 1685
