A nice example of a mid-19th-century Nottinghamshire region low-back Windsor chair in ash & elm. Having a very decoratively pierced back splat a wide saddle seat, crinoline stretcher, beautifully triple ring-turned legs with pear-shaped feet and turned underarm supports. Given the distinctive design details, this chair is probably by the Allsop family of Worksop in North Nottinghamshire.
In lovely worn condition with a rich patina. Age related wear and tear but otherwise solid with no loose joints.
