A very attractive early 19th century mahogany dressing table mirror of elegant proportions, dating to circa 1820. The shield-shaped mirror plate is set within a finely shaped frame, raised on gracefully curved supports with original brass adjustment handles and decorative finials.
The base features a beautifully figured mahogany top above a serpentine front, housing three drawers with turned brass knobs and a central escutcheon. The rich colour and striking grain throughout the mahogany give the piece real warmth and presence.
Raised on shaped bracket feet, the mirror retains a pleasing sense of balance and refinement, typical of the late Georgian period. The mirror plate shows some light foxing, consistent with age, adding to its authentic character.
A charming and practical antique, perfect for use on a dressing table or chest, and equally suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
