An impressive early 20th-century oak chapel throne chair, formerly of Caputh Parish Church, Perthshire, crafted in the Gothic Revival style. The tall back is carved with three pointed-arch panels, drawing inspiration from Gothic church architecture, while the open arms and square seat give the piece a strong, a commanding presence. The chair stands on robust supports united by an H-shaped stretcher, ensuring excellent stability. A striking and well-proportioned ecclesiastical chair with superb social-history interest, presented in very good condition and rich with character.
