This is a fabulous French carved walnut armchair beautifully upholstered in silk brocade dating from around 1900. The chair has been meticulously and very skilfully hand made to an incredible standard. It has a very heavy hardwood frame, with absolutely no give and tight joints and a show frame in intricately carved solid walnut.The design is very eye catching with sweeping curves and carved floral knop hand rests which clearly reflect the changing fashions of the times. It is upholstered in a shell pink silk brocade and has deep buttoning to the back and a separate thick squab cushion, feather filled, making a most comfortable seat.
