An elegant set of late 19th century mahogany dining chairs consisting of two carvers and six side chairs in the style of George Hepplewhite, each with a shaped back, the lobed toprail carved with roses to the centre and trailing harebells to the sides, over a pierced and waisted splat carved with an open palmette above a line of descending harebells on open bars, the two carvers with fluted elbow supports and scrolling decoration to a generous stuffover seat of concave shape and covered in tan leather with brass studs, and raised on square tapering and lightly outswept supports. English, circa 1880.Condition: Excellent, all the chairs are in very good condition with no breaks or damage, the carvings on each are crisp and precise, the seats are in very good condition and recently done, each chair is solid and robust and comfortable to sit on and with no loose joints or wobbling.
