Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of 1930 Art Deco shop display cabinets comprises bow-ended satinwood display units on stands, constructed from blonde wood and glass with fabric interiors and dark plinth bases. Each cabinet includes brass surrounds, mirrored doors, cupboard bases, curved glass sides, and rounded corners. Standing at 193 cm high, 138 cm wide, and 62 cm deep, these substantial pieces provide extensive vertical display capacity. Positioned in a contemporary interior, these cabinets function well as striking storage and display furniture in a boutique-style dressing room, a spacious living area, or an entrance hallway to showcase collections of ceramics, glassware, or curated objects.

FAQs

Art Deco shop display cabinets originated in the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by streamlined silhouettes, curved glass elements, polished wood veneers, and functional elegance tailored for commercial retail presentation.

These pieces commonly feature figured timber veneers such as birch, walnut, or satinwood applied over solid timber frames, combined with bent clear glass panels, cloth-lined display interiors, and metal hardware.

Authentic vintage showcases exhibit period-specific construction details such as hand-cut joinery, original curved glass, integrated interior lighting fittings, sliding fabric-lined back doors, and wear consistent with commercial use.

Retail showcases serve as focal storage solutions in living rooms, dining spaces, or hallways, ideal for presenting curated collections, glassware, or decorative objects while adding architectural character.

Wood veneers require periodic waxing with a neutral beeswax polish using a soft microfibre cloth, while glass elements should be cleaned with non-ammoniated glass cleaner applied directly to the cloth rather than the timber frame.
