Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco display cabinets from the 1920s through the 1930s feature clean geometric lines, streamlined metalwork, and functional glass paneling. Designers often combined modern industrial materials like tubular steel or chrome with luxury elements such as leather, brass, or exotic timber veneers.

Vitrines of this period were typically built using frame materials such as nickel-plated steel, chrome, or polished hardwood, combined with heavy float or plate glass panels. Base sections frequently incorporated secondary materials including leather, lacquer, or wood, complemented by brass or steel feet.

Authentic pieces generally feature hand-fitted metal frames, original square or cylinder glass lock mechanisms, and naturally aged surface patina on structural jointing. Look for authentic signs of wear on base materials, along with heavy glass shelving supported by period-correct metal clips or brackets.

A freestanding metal and glass vitrine serves as an architectural focus in living areas, hallway alcoves, or dressing rooms. It offers an ideal setting for displaying curated ceramic collections, sculpture, luxury accessories, or books without visually darkening the surrounding space.

Clean glass panels using a non-abrasive microfibre cloth and specialized glass cleaner, avoiding contact with metal joins. Preserve leather base sections by dusting regularly and occasionally applying a neutral leather balm, while keeping brass elements free of harsh chemical polish.
