A charming set of three antique ash and elm penny chairs. These antique penny chairs have a shaped top that is supported by stick back and turned spindles, with solid elm circular seats. The penny chairs are raised on turned legs with a ‘H’ stretcher support. Plenty of rustic charm throughout.
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches throughout. One chair features a historic repair to one the turned back supports, which has been filled (pictured) but it remains structurally solid and sound. There is historic woodworm evident to the underside of the seats, which is long gone and treated as a preventative measure. The penny chairs overall are a good solid set.
