A Good Quality Early 19th Century Simulated Rosewood
Regency Period Library Armchair Having Elegant Scrolling
Arms Over X Framed End Supports With Carved Decoration,
Ormolu Mounts And Replaced Brass Castors
(This elegant design of chair is typical regency design and
offers great comfort in combination with a real elegance and
classy look. That is a combination which can often be hard to
find during regency times, as often there is a trade off between
comfort and style. It is in excellent condition and has been
recently reupholstered. The replaced brass castors are in the
identical style to what the original would have been. It is
constructed from ‘simulated rosewood’ which could also
be described as ‘faux rosewood’, which means that it is
actually beech, or a similar wood, which was stained at the
point of construction to make it look like the item has been
constructed from the hugely more expensive solid rosewood.
Again this is a fairly
...common technique of the time)
