Large antique French gilt mirror from the early 1800s.
It has its lovely original worn gilt on gesso Louis Philippe frame, showing lots of the red bole that is found underneath all real gilt.
It has its distressed mercury glass which gives a wonderful sparkle and reflection like no other. Mercury glass was not made after 1840.
It has a new back and wire and is ready to be hung.
It would have originally been an overmantel mirror but would look just as good as a leaner mirror (it is large enough) or hung on a large wall.
Delivery £60 to most of mainland UK using a trusted, specialist antiques courier.
