Continental 18th century walnut pier mirror

The moulded frame in cross cut walnut veneers with a moulded parcel gilt slip, the original mirror plate with some foxing, below a floral painted panel with a fret cut border mounted with a carved and gilded crown with a trio of ostrich feathers.

At the top, a fret-cut scrolled pediment houses an upper panel with a floral still-life oil painting depicting red, yellow and orange flowers, surmounted by a carved and gilded crown featuring a trio of ostrich feathers. Below the painted panel sits the original rectangular glass mirror plate with some foxing, all framed within the tall wooden structure.
