A very attractive and small wall clock.
The 8 day duration, chain fusee movement with Anchor Recoil escapement.
Behind a 9 1/2'' (visible) flat, painted iron dial with a cream coloured background and black inking. The outer divided minute track has triangular hour markings and it has Roman hour numerals. The centre has the retailer''s signature of ''Harrods Ltd. London S.W.'' in script. The hands are blued steel with the hour hand of spade style. Covered with a brass hinged bezel with flat glass and a silvered sight ring.
Contained in a beautifully French polished, light oak case of good colour and patina. The pegged back box has an access door to the right hand side and the curved bottom has a further locking, curved and cockbeaded door for pendulum regulating access.
Dimensions: 12 1/2'' diameter x 6'' deep.
Condition: The well-maintained movement is bright, shows no signs of wear and is in excellent working order. The dial has been restored by us because it had losses
... of paint and areas of poor patching however, for the purpose of authentication, I photographed it before restoration as evidence and the original base colour was perfectly colour-matched. The case is undamaged, unrestored and has excellent colour and patination. It has a superb polished finish. The lock works well and everything about this little clock sold by the world''s most famous retailer is -''just so''!
Price: The price is for the clock carrying a full guarantee.
