French Antique Company has dated this piece to the 1800s.
Incredible matching pair of antique French gilt and bare gesso mirrors in perfect condition.
They came from a grand Southern French villa.
They date from the early 1800s and both have their wonderful original mercury glass. Mercury glass gives a reflection and incredible sparkle like no other. It was not made after 1840 and was the glass used in the Palace of Versailles. They have no scratches. The left hand one has some lovely foxing to the bottom of the glass.

They both have their original backboards. Photos of these available - please enquire.
It is extremely rare to find a matching pair of antique French mirrors of this size, condition and exceptional quality.
