A very fine 19th Century giltwood dressing or leaner mirror of grand proportions and exceptional quality. The mirror glass plate of rectangular form is set within a stunningly hand carved, moulded and fluted giltwood frame surmounted with an overhanging stepped cornice with decorative acanthus leaf and foliate motif detail above an elegantly simple deep frieze with an arrangement of centred cabochon, acanthus leaves, richly trailing foliate and scroll detail, flanked with a pair of pair of figural sculptures, finely carved in high relief and set within a pair of recessed panelled alcoves. Raised over a pair ring turned pilaster columns with gorgeous rope twist detail, supported on shaped platform base.
