Elegant Antique French gilt mirror in excellent condition.

It dates from the very early 1800s.

Its beautiful real gilt (gold leaf) on gesso frame has a large unusual crest of grapes and vine leaves and pretty ornate floral detail to its corners,

It has its lovely original mercury glass which gives a reflection and sparkle like no other. Mercury glass was not made after 1835 and is the glass used for the Palace of Versailles mirrors. It has no scratches.

It would make the perfect overmantel or mirror above a console perhaps.
