Here we have a wonderful original Charles II Oak Wainscot armchair c1680. As you can see the chair as great colour and patina. The chair is from Yorkshire and probably Leeds or Halifax. There is a broad winged top crest which has been exquisitely carved. There is a Holly and Ebony inlaid string below and this is also replicated around the central rear panel and the front of the seat rail. There are well shaped arms with scribed decoration to the top which is replicated on the chip carved seat edge. The legs are well turned with a small tip and and gun barrel centres. The whole is of pegged mortice and tenon construction. A super period chair in excellent retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 110 cm high 60 cm wide 50 cm deep.
