A beautiful mid 19th century coromandel and brass inlaid dressing and jewellery case. This is a first quality box, boasting brass edges, a double brass line inlay to the front and top and inside beautifully engraved silver plated locks and hinges, a Bramah lock with original key, a further key for a jewellery drawer, and four cut glass perfume bottles in a blue velvet lined compartmented tray.
The front drops down to reveal a tooled leather lined drawer with silver plated flush handle, above a further lockable drawer, while the mirror inset in the lid, which is removable using a concealed button, reveals a letter compartment in tooled leather matching the drawer beneath.
