A Pair of Louis XV Style Fauteuils c1850 each with an arched padded back above scroll carved arms, the serpentine stuff over seats on moulded cabriole legs, each covered in a floral tapestry needlepoint , the back panels depicting a figure engaged in pastoral pursuits, the seats depicting an animal in the landscape, we feel the tapestry could be earlier in date than the chairs. Seat Height 41 cm
NOTE: These chairs form part of a suite as there are six Fauteuils in total, all the same and each pair has slightly different tapestry, please ask for images and are to be listed soon. Also with the suite comes a three seater canape in similar material and same period (listed) and a Fire Guard same period and material (listed).
CONDITION: Whilst being of solid construction some gilding has worn (as seen) commensurate with age , if a client wished them reguilded we can have this arranged and give a quote. The original Tapestry on all backs is in good condition but the current seats and arms show wear, again our upholsterer can quote to have these done in a material of your choice.
Provenance: The Property of a Country House, England from family Flanders, Belgium.
