Fred Walker of Rockley Antique Windsor Chair

A fabulous example of a very original 19th century antique Windsor high back armchair by one of the best makers, Fred Walker of Rockley Nottinghamshire. The famous Bernard Cotton’s book on The English Regional Chair, has lots more information about this chair making family.

This is a lovely model and a superb colour that features a high pierced back splat back, solid seat with the turned front legs joined by a crinoline stretcher. Stamped beautifully on the side of the seat by the maker. Dates to around 1840-50. Perfect dining height.
