A Regency gilt convex mirror, often called a bullseye mirror, is a circular wall mirror featuring a curved glass plate designed to reflect a wide panoramic view of a room, popular during the early 19th century.

These mirrors are typically constructed from carved pine or gesso-coated wood, finished with gold leaf or gilding, and feature a reeded ebonised inner slip surrounding the convex glass plate.

Authentic pieces often exhibit period-appropriate construction such as hand-carved wooden frames, original hand-blown convex glass with silvering degradation or foxing, and old backboards secured with handmade headless nails.

This piece works effectively as a focal point above a mantelpiece or console table, contrasting sharply against modern minimalist walls or complementing traditional dark academia and classic interior schemes.

Preserve the fragile gilt surface by dusting lightly with a dry, soft brush, avoiding all chemical cleaning agents, moisture, and direct sunlight to prevent further degradation of the gold leaf and silvered glass.
