Fabulous black leather and gold tooled officers travelling correspondence box by J. W. Allen, The Strand. Complete with interior fittings and original working Bramah lock and key. (c.1880).
 
J. W. Allen was a military outfitter, luggage manufacturer and one of the longest standing barrack furniture makers in British history from around 1788 to 1913.
