Description

A late 19th century antique smoker’s bow armchair or captain’s chair. The chair has a shaped back rest with turned spindle upright supports. The seat has recently been professionally reupholstered with leather and brass studs. The chair is raised on four turned legs with a double H stretcher support. Nicely paired with a antique Georgian oak tilt top table (M-4851).

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the wooden frame. The seat has recently been professionally reupholstered and remains neat and clean throughout. The antique smoker’s bow armchair remains structurally solid and sound with good tight joints. Overall, a charming example of its kind.
