Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco drinks cabinets from the 1930s typically feature clean geometric forms, smooth curved edges, and rich wood veneers such as walnut or mahogany. Designed for entertaining at home, they often incorporate drop-down mixing surfaces, fitted interiors, and mirrored glass backings.

These cabinets were primarily constructed using solid hardwood frames faced with figured wood veneers like book-matched walnut. Interior compartments often integrated silvered mirror glass, bakelite or chrome fittings, and internal lighting mechanisms.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-specific construction details, such as hand-finished wood veneers, original glass mirrors with natural age spots, and vintage mechanical hinges or pop-up mechanisms rather than modern hydraulic slides.

An Art Deco cabinet functions as a focal point in a dining room, living area, or dedicated entertaining space. Pairing the timber tones with understated metallic lighting and contemporary glassware balances historical craftsmanship with modern aesthetics.

Maintain walnut veneers by applying a high-grade beeswax polish periodically and keeping the cabinet away from direct heat sources and sunlight. Clean internal mirrors using a dry microfibre cloth or non-ammonia glass cleaner applied directly to the cloth rather than the glass.
