This Art Deco cocktail cabinet originates from the 1930 period and is constructed from birds eye maple with walnut veneer, mirror glass, glass, and chrome elements in a honey brown colour. The piece takes a cloud form silhouette with book-matched veneer, featuring a mirrored pop-up interior, curved glass side panels, a central two-door cupboard, and a drop-down fluted drinks compartment. Additional visible details include circular turned handles, bracket feet, and astragal glazing bars on the curved side doors, alongside an engraved Art Deco design on the back mirror of the upper section. The cabinet measures 126 cm high, 147 cm wide, and 38.5 cm deep. It functions as a drinks and glassware storage unit for a living room, dining room, or entertaining space in a home today.

Art Deco cocktail cabinets emerged during the 1920s and 1930s, characterised by geometric forms, curved cloud shapes, and luxurious decorative veneers. These pieces were designed specifically for home entertainment, incorporating specialized compartments for glassware, shakers, and spirits.

British cabinet makers of this era frequently utilised figured timber veneers such as burr walnut, maple, and satinwood. Interiors were commonly lined with mirrored glass, glass shelving, lemonwood or sycamore accents, and polished chrome hardware.

Pieces produced by Harry and Lou Epstein often display distinctive bold cloud-form shapes, high-grade book-matched walnut veneers, and solid proportions. Quality construction details include fully fitted mirrored interiors and smoothly operating mechanical pop-up or dropdown mechanisms.

A cocktail cabinet functions effectively as a focal point in a dining room, formal reception room, or open-plan living space. It can be dressed with period-appropriate glassware or contemporary bar accessories to bridge historical and modern design elements.

Timber surfaces should be dusted with a microfibre cloth and treated periodically with a high-quality beeswax paste to protect the finish. Mirrored glass components should be cleaned with a non-ammoniated glass cleaner applied via cloth rather than sprayed directly onto joints.
