FAQs

Rococo revival furniture draws inspiration from 18th-century French design, characterised by asymmetric curves, ornate carvings, and elegant, flowing lines that became popular again during the 19th century.

These pieces typically feature solid hardwood frames, such as beech or oak, joined with traditional mortise and tenon techniques, finished with gesso, paint, and upholstered leather secured with brass tacks.

Authenticity is determined by examining the patina of the paint, hand-carved details, traditional joinery methods, natural wear patterns, and the ageing of the underlying wood and leather materials.

Pair the chair with minimalist or contemporary furnishings to create a striking contrast, allowing the ornate carved details and distressed painted finish to serve as a focal point in the room.

Keep the chair away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent paint cracking and leather drying, and dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth while conditioning the leather periodically.
