Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

The Napoleon III style, spanning the mid-to-late 19th century in France, draws heavily on eclectic historical revivals, incorporating comfortable proportions, elaborate upholstery, and often ebonised or gilt wood frames.

These pieces typically feature a sturdy hardwood frame, traditionally constructed with traditional joinery, coiled spring interiors, horsehair or stuffing, and hand-turned wooden legs.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned wooden components showing natural wear, traditional hand-stitched webbing, and materials consistent with 19th-century manufacturing techniques.

Pairing a classic antique frame with contemporary textiles, such as bold linens or textured velvets, creates a striking focal point that bridges traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetic sensibilities.

Preservation involves keeping the piece away from direct sunlight to prevent textile fading, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, and vacuuming fabric gently with a low-suction attachment.
