We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

The Regency style, spanning roughly from 1811 to 1820, is characterised by classical influences drawn from ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, featuring restrained elegance, dark woods like mahogany, and often brass inlay or mounts.

These pieces are typically constructed from dense tropical hardwoods such as mahogany, often accented with hand-cut brass stringing or inlay, and feature traditional joinery alongside upholstered drop-in or stuffed seats.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-correct joinery, hand-carved details, timber patination consistent with age, and genuine brass inlay rather than modern brass plating or synthetic substitutes.

Pairing antique wooden seating with a minimalist modern dining table creates a striking juxtaposition that highlights the historical craftsmanship while maintaining a balanced, eclectic aesthetic.

Maintain timber furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying microcrystalline wax to protect the polished finish.
