Philip Hunt Antiques has dated these Georgian Mahogany Dining Chairs to the Georgian era.
The backs feature a deep shaped top rail and slender lower rail, both enhanced with finely executed reeded decoration, which is continued to the uprights and adds a subtle refinement to their otherwise restrained design.
The carver is particularly attractive, featuring shaped reeded arms supported by elegant turned columns. All six chairs retain their lift-out seats, making them both practical and versatile for future reupholstery.
The rich mahogany has developed a wonderful warm patina, giving the chairs considerable character and an authentic antique appearance.
Presented in good condition.
