Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

A bergere is an enclosed upholstered armchair with wooden framing, originating in France during the early 18th century, transitioning from formal court furniture to more comfortable domestic seating.

These chairs traditionally feature solid timber frames such as mahogany, walnut, or beech, combined with hand-woven cane panels and loose upholstered seat cushions.

Authentic pieces exhibit traditional joinery techniques, hand-woven cane with natural irregularities, period-appropriate timber patination, and wear consistent with age.

Pair the classical wooden frame and textured cane back with contemporary minimalist decor to create a balanced focal point in a living room or study.

Maintain cane integrity by keeping the material moisturised with damp cloths periodically, avoiding direct heat sources, and protecting upholstery from prolonged direct sunlight.
