Regency Set Of 4 Mahogany Chairs, Stamped Gillows Lancaster

Good Gillows late Regency set of 4 mahogany side chairs, stamped ''Gillows Lancaster'' and newly upholstered in good quality red leather; the shaped top rail with a carved scroll cresting, above an upholstered back panel. The buttoned squab cushions with a piped edge and concealed leather straps to secure the cushion through slots in the frame (a feature known to Gillows). The cane seats raised on turned tapering legs to the front, and sabre legs to the rear. Good grade of mahogany as expected of Gillows with a good rich colour and patina.
