Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This Arts and Crafts armchair dates from around 1900 and is constructed from solid oak with a medium brown timber tone and visible wooden peg joinery. The piece features a high rectangular backrest with three vertical wooden slats, flat horizontal armrests, and straight chamfered legs. The drop-in seat is upholstered in a patterned fabric displaying a botanical design with green foliage and orange and yellow floral motifs, finished along the seat rail with a row of small brass studding. The timber surfaces show a warm grain pattern and smooth polished finish, while the structural framing provides a sturdy profile suitable for everyday domestic seating. Measuring approximately 94 cm in height, this armchair provides comfortable seating for a study, reading corner, or living room in a traditional home interior setting. The combination of exposed joinery and floral upholstery exemplifies the craftsmanship of the early twentieth century design movement.

Emerging in the late 19th century as a reaction against industrial mass production, Arts and Crafts furniture emphasises simple forms, visible joinery, and honest craftsmanship using natural materials such as solid oak.

These chairs typically feature solid native hardwoods, particularly quarter-sawn oak, mortise and tenon joints, straight vertical back slats, and fabric or leather upholstered seats secured with metal studs.

Look for authentic construction signs such as hand-cut mortise and tenon joinery, natural age-related patination on the timber surfaces, unrefined undersides, and period-appropriate textile upholstery.

Position the chair in a reading corner alongside a floor lamp, or use it as an accent piece in a study or hallway to balance modern minimalism with historical texture.

Dust the wooden frame regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish periodically along the grain, keeping the piece away from direct heat sources and sunlight to protect the timber and upholstery.
