Traditionally known as a His & Hers pair, the set consists of one larger gentleman's armchair and a slightly smaller lady's chair, designed in the same elegant style and intended to sit together as a complementary pair.
Particularly attractive details include the carved cresting to the tops of the backrests, scrolling open sections beneath the backs and elegantly shaped arm supports.
Both chairs stand on decorative turned and carved front legs terminating in original-style castors, with swept rear legs giving the chairs their characteristic Victorian profile.
The larger gentleman's chair has upholstered armrests supported by finely turned columns, while the smaller lady's chair has elegant open scrolling sides without padded arms. This subtle difference in construction gives each chair its own character while retaining the visual harmony of the pair.
