Philip Hunt Antiques has dated these Hepplewhite Mahogany Dining Chairs to the 1920s.

The chairs are raised upon elegant tapered front legs terminating in classic spade feet, with swept rear legs providing a graceful profile. The shield-shaped backs are particularly attractive, featuring finely pierced decoration and beautifully carved swags, complemented by delicate boxwood line inlays.

The chairs have generously proportioned stuff-over seats, providing excellent comfort for extended dining. The two carver chairs feature shaped arms with elegantly shaped supports, completing the impressive suite.

A highly decorative and versatile set, equally suited to a period dining room or a more contemporary interior where their timeless elegance and beautifully aged timber can be appreciated.
