Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Enamel snuff boxes were produced in Bilston and South Staffordshire during the eighteenth century. These small, decorative containers were manufactured to hold powdered tobacco or small patches and were widely collected throughout Georgian England.

These boxes were formed from thin sheets of copper that were coated with opaque white enamel glaze and fired. Decorative designs were painted using enamel pigments, and the boxes were fitted with gilt-metal mounts and hinges.

Authentic period enamels often display subtle hairline cracks or minor chips around the hinge mount due to age and handling. They feature hand-painted decoration, period-correct metalwork mounts, and a copper substrate visible where the enamel has worn.

A small enamel box can be displayed inside a glass-fronted curio cabinet or positioned on a tray atop a console table or mantelpiece. It serves as a subtle accent piece when grouped with other decorative antiques or modern tableware.

Clean the surface gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. Keep the piece away from water, moisture, and chemical polish, as water can seep beneath the metal mounts and cause oxidisation to the underlying copper.
