Very attractive French giltwood wall mirror c.1890. Original 22'' x 30½'' mirror plate with the distinctive sparkle of old mercury glass. Within a broad wooden frame with lovely rippled surface and decorative gesso mouldings at the corners. Original gilded finish worn and rubbed through in places to reveal the red ground below. A little bit of tarnish to the mirror but otherwise very good original condition. Could be hung either landscape or portrait aspect.
