An outstanding example of a late 17th Century Lancashire Chair in mint condition and of lovely untouched colour.
All parts are original and the pegs still in place, the chair tips up to reveal a fabulous golden colour and dry surface to the underneath of the original drop over seat. The botanical carving is crisp and deep and flows beautifully throughout the top rail and panel featuring tulips, grapes and roses. The chair has very little wear and stands remarkably tall on its feet having lost no height over the years.
