Handsome Set of Six (4+2) Edwardian Period Mahogany Chippendale Style Dining Chairs A handsome set of six antique solid mahogany dining chairs in the classic Chippendale style, dating from around 1910 and comprising two armchairs and four single chairs. The quality is excellent, and the design particularly attractive. The backs are pierced with fine fretwork, and the legs are double stretchered for extra stability. All chairs have drop-in upholstered seats, with the two carvers matching the four singles. The mahogany has a gorgeous colour and patina, and the original polish finish has been retained. Each chair features a shaped and carved top rail with moulded uprights and a pierced, carved central splat; the armchairs also have shaped and moulded arms. This leads down to drop-in upholstered seats in a neutral fabric, currently in good condition (and easily re-upholstered in a fabric of choice if desired).
