Bruce Talbert (1838-1881) A Carved Oak Hall Chair, In The Manner Of Gillows, 1870's

£295    $400    €348
Many of Bruce Talbert''s designs were executed by Gillows and this chair may well have been made by the firm. The seat rail stamped J. McCluskey, presumably the chair maker and carver, with owner and design registration numbers on the front and back rails.

The hand-carved finials are much more labour intensive than more typical turned equivalents and suggest a specific one-off commsion rather than a more widely produced production design.

Well presented and structurally sound, minor chips to extremities of the back legs

Reliable transport throughout the UK can be easily arranged at cost price.
