Description

A fine George III wood carved and gilt wall mirror of unusual small proportions. C 1770. It has a C-scroll and rockwork decorated carved surround with swags of fruit and flowers to the sides and topped with a foliate crest. The original shaped and beveled plate is retained and in remarkably good condition. The original gilding has mellowed to a warm and rich tone. The small proportions make this a most versatile and attractive piece. It measures 79cm (31") high and 50cm (19½") wide.
