A 17thC Continental Carved Wood and Gesso Frame with 18thC Foxed Mirror 49cm.
A superbly stylish, early carved wood and gesso, ornate frame which we estimate to date circa late 17th to early 18th century, Northern European, Dutch, Belgium , France etc.., which probably started life as a picture frame.
A hand built, heavy frame with a faded, subdued presence of gilding that has worn over time to an enchanting distress, later fitted with a mercury mirror which dates to circa 18th century and showing evidence of some foxing.
