The chair is a little more shallow in the seat and the back a little less raked than some Darvel and Newmilns chairs and the simple turned legs have more in common with 18th century examples of the type. For the sitter the chair is comfortable and supportive.
Tight, structurally solid frame, good colour, one section of stretcher has been a chewed by a dog a few decades ago! see image.
