Mid 19th Century Ash, Elm & Fruitwood Comb Back Windsor Armchair of Wonderful Patina

A mid 19th century (circa 1850) ash, elm and fruitwood comb back Windsor armchair of wonderful patina from the Lincolnshire region.

This armchair consists of a shaped top rail or comb rail with turned outer uprights, a design particularly used in Lincolnshire, with nine spindles leading down to a shaped fruitwood arm bow supported by shaped arm supports with further spindles below.

This leads down to a shaped and figured solid elm seat with an old repair to the front rail.

The chair is supported on four turned legs joined with an H stretcher, the legs tipped at some point over the years which is not uncommon.

This armchair is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
