A handsome elm and ash, regional elbow chair or Lancashire chair, a traditional vernacular chair dating to circa 1830.
The tall, spindle-back chair measures 109cm tall, a familiar characteristic of the Lancashire chair, with its original fine craftsman rush seat and stout turned elm front legs, revealing a rich grain pattern, knots and patination, beneath serpentine arms and turned supports.
A fine quality regional chair, a versatile country chair for a kitchen day room, a farmhouse aesthetic for a day or bedroom, landing or bathroom which will be sold with a fresh and even wax polish and a full check in our workshop to ensure all joints are tight.
