This set of six nineteenth-century English country dining chairs comprises five standard chairs and one carver, dating from around 1820. Constructed from dark brown oak, the pieces display woven rush seats, spindle backrests with multiple turned uprights, and sturdy turned stretchers with central finial details on the front rails. The carver incorporates sweeping open arms supported by uprights extending to pad feet. The rich dark brown timber finish complements the textured natural rush seating.
