Superb set of six late Georgian cottage dining chairs in elm c.1800. The design is a simple country vernacular interpretation of a Hepplewhite chair, with a nicely arched top rail and pierced back splat. Over board seats (height 18'') on tapering square legs joined with stretchers to all four sides, the front ones set back for comfort. Particularly good colour and grain to the timber.
