Georgian Elm Country Corner Elbow Armchair Late C18th (george III Farmhouse)

A Georgian period, solid elm corner elbow armchair, dating from the late C18th (George III). This well figured elm framed armchair features a curved back rest, over broad continuous arm rail with scrolled ends, three turned supports separated by twin pierced back splats. Drop in seat, upholstered in brown velvet, raised on square legs supported by stretchers.
 
A charming country chair. Some flaws, but full of character and with excellent polish and patina. Ready for use.

This armchair measures approximately 78 cm (30.75'') tall, 76 cm (30'') wide, and 59 cm (23.25'') deep. The seat height is approximately 43.5 cm (17.125'').
