ANTIQUE #SA1111071

Rare Turners Chair

£1,450    $1,877    €1,737
Of interesting design with side supports, a small chair of robust build. Made entirely of ash with a golden caramel colour and soft patina. Though it has lost some height it would never have stood very tall originally as it was meant for the fireside. Genuine period chairs of this type are now rare, they were reproduced a great deal in the 19th and early 20th century and are often mistaken for period pieces. It comes with an early fitted tapestry and horsehair cushion which is not much younger than the chair itself.

Welsh or English. 1660- 1720
