Antique Ladder Back with Elm Rush Seat, Regional Armchair C1800 to 1820.
A superbly stylish, vernacular regional arm chair circa 1800-1820.
An ebonised elm regional ladder back chair with rush seating. A typical regional country chair that gave inspiration to the later Sussex Chair by William Morris, modelled on earlier regional chairs, this being an early example, circa 1800 to 1820 and possibly a little earlier.
A traditional regional chair with an original ebonised surface to the elm which, with timeworn use and wear has now rubbed, to create a splendid reveal to the elm and elegant patination.
A well constructed, structurally excellent country chair of vernacular integrity and design cues that influenced the Arts and Crafts.
A superbly stylish, versatile chair of both practical use and considerable decorative appeal. An interior design chair for a day room or bedroom, dressing room or farmhouse kitchen etc.., that can compliment a classic or contemporary space.
